LoansUK.co.uk was founded in 1999 right at the beginning of the dot.com boom.

The web site was created to serve the UK population with an online loan broker service and within a matter of weeks we appeared at the top of the Internet search engines for the search term "Loans" - this was even before Google became part of everyday life.

In the late nineties early noughties the majority of people used the Internet as a research tool or a more efficient yellow pages. Consumers were very uncomfortable sending their personal data over the Internet and the majority of the enquiries came via the phone number displayed on the web site.

Over the last ten years, we have seen a huge transformation of consumer behaviour. With the rapid success of the comparison web sites and increased Internet security, consumer finance is now predominantly carried out over the Internet. Secure online applications have now become commonplace with people using the phone only if they have to.
